Koura means ‘gold’ in Māori language, and Manuka Honey has been widely regarded as liquid gold due to its uniqueness and limited quantity. Each Batch of Koura honey is laboratory certified with methylglyoxal-MGO standard.
Koura started in 2015 from Kaikoura, a touristic costal town, north of Canterbury, South Island, New Zealand.
Koura is trademarked and owned by EOS Trading Ltd, a subsidiary of SW Investments Group Ltd, New Zealand owned and operated since 2004.
From Kaikōura’s wild mountainous location on Te Waipounamu’s East Coast, we source the finest golden Mānuka Honey the region has to offer.
Where does Kōura Honey Come from?
For nearly 10 years in the honey trade business, we have contacts and we collaborate with trusted beekeepers in Marlborough region and through out NZ.
We have sourced Manuka honey from Gisborne and Northland area back in 2014 to early 2016, these areas produce much more higher grade MGO Manuka Honey.
We have been sourcing from Kaikoura and Marlborough region in the recent years. In 2021& 2022 we only able to acquire Manuka Honey with MGO level ranges between 30+ - MGO 85+ .
